Conservation / Capacity

We had such a great time today with our capacity activity.  We have been working on this all week.  I am so proud of my students!!!  We will be bringing our Recycling / Conservation unit and capacity to an end tomorrow!!

We will begin our plant and length unit next week!!  I can’t wait.  This is one of my favorite units!!!   I just love all of our spring units!!

I love KINDERGARTEN!!!!

Here are a few pictures. (I included a few from our Oviparous unit also because one of my great volunteers was a big help today by taking our barn down to prepare for our next week’s activities)

Why do we recycle?

Well, we beat the rain today and got our science experiment in the ground.  The children made all sorts of predictions on what they thought would happen to the apple cores and the cup and spoon.  I can’t wait to check the hole in about a week and a half!!

Recycling and Conservation

We are so excited!  We are getting ready to begin our recycling and conservation week.  We are really starting on Monday.  We have already began collecting our can for our school beautification project, began to collect our Toy Trade items and will get our Why We Recycle Experiment started tomorrow.  We tried to squeeze it in today, but just ran out of time. (I know none of you ever do that in your classrooms.  I will add pictures when we get it started.  Below is my unit. Check it out on TPT.

Ducklings Gone To The Farm

It was a busy day for us.  Our ducklings have gone to the farm to play.  We could not decide if we wanted to be sad for us or happy for them.  We had such a great time yesterday comparing our ducklings with Mrs. Rhyne’s chicks.  All of the students did a great job reporting all of the great facts they had learned!!  We are so proud of both classes.

TPT Oviparous Unit

Oviparous Animals has been the topic of discussion for the last two weeks!!  It has been so much fun.  Take a look at some of the pictures on my other post.  We will spend one more week comparing chicks and ducks.  Our ducks hatched a little early and we are waiting for our chick hatching classrooms to finish hatching.  We will then compare their chicks to our ducklings.

WOW!!

Making Memories!!!

I have included my TPT Oviparous Unit.

Swimming Ducks

What an exciting day!!  We let the ducklings swim today.  The children LOVED it, and so did I!!

Take a look at our pictures.

Ducklings

Amazing!!  Things have been so busy that I have not had time to post many pictures!  I am going to post several events and try and tie them together!  We placed our duck eggs in the incubator on March 14th.  What an exciting day. See below.  You can feel the excitement in the room.

Next we had our great friend from the Clemson Extension Agency come and share with us about what is going on inside our eggs.  At the end she candled our eggs.  Out of 14 eggs, we have 12 developing.  We got to see our developing ducklings moving, the air space and veins inside the egg.  What a great experience!!

Can you tell the difference in the two eggs???

We have our first duckling!!!  Yes, it is early.  We were not expecting any until Thursday of this week. We knew he was working hard to come out, but I did not expect him to come 5 minutes after the children left to go home.  I am sure we will have more to see tomorrow!
Ask your child how many days does a duck egg need to be incubated for it to hatch.

It is going to be an exciting week!!  Parents, please come on by and visit.  We would love to have you!!
